Why?
The way I used to use DevArt was mostly for photo edits. I mostly used real images from free stock accounts to do so.
In the past, others have asked me to take down old gallery entries, while even DevArt destroyed/lost many others or simply decided I had not enough permission...
In any case, the point is that I was using someone's likeness (with permission) and the changes proposed by DevArt about training AIs with its contents means the usage of someone's photos on it... Something which is icky, from my own beliefs and for which I know nothing about legal ramifications.
So I've decided that I will not be responsible if DevArt ends up using the likeness of a model that graciously provided their likeness for my pieces to be used by a machine generated monstrosity. All pieces with images of real people (edited or not) have been deleted.
I will not delete this account... Not yet anyways.
Hey! This account has been with me for half my life now...
Call it nostalgia, maybe.
I will not be posting anything meaningful or that uses someone's resemblance explicitly and, depending on how things go with DevArt's decisions I might or might not come to it.
My art is somewhere else but, alas, a billionaire bought it and it's now more of a cesspool than it was before. A blue birdy told me so. Crying.
I might even dust my old blog... And when or if I do, you'll be sure to know :)
Much love!
